Demos

We recorded loads of speedruns at SpeedCon. Ilkka had arranged no less than 6(!) computers, so we madcoop'ed until we dropped... they're all here for you to grab now, enjoy. (If you want to download all SpeedCon demos in one zip to avoid endless Fileplanet windows, grab all the SpeedCon Speedruns in one .dz here). We also have DM demos available, scroll down the page for those.

SpeedCon Speedruns - sorted & posted by Ilkka

First of all I want to say that the following mad coop -collection is probably the best ever. We had six computers in a local network and so we finally got rid of the lag that we've had when playing on the Internet. There's a wide variety of demos, some are only 2-player coops while others have even 6 players. As a starter, here's the coolest demo we did in my opinion:
  • E1M4, 6-player easy run in 0:17 - You simply MUST check this out! Players: Nolan, Ilkka, Jesse, Alex, Ingmar and Marlo. The .zip also includes a refilmed version that I did afterwards.
ID demos - the good old original levels

When you have catched your breath after seing that E1M4 demo, check out these other ID level demos that we did:

  • E1M5, 4-player easy 100% in 0:25 - Improved our Internet time by 4 seconds. Players: Ilkka, Marlo, Fab and Alex. We got this pretty easily - never got round to record :24, unfortunately.
  • E2M5, 2-player easy 100% in 0:56 - New to the tables. Nolan and Stefan decided to record one of the last empty 2-player easy 100% coops for the ID levels.
  • E2M6, 2-player easy 100% in 2:38 - Another demo by Nolan and Stefan: this time they improved Chris' & Will's old time by 1:30(!).
  • E3M1, 2-player nightmare 100% in 1:05 - A really cool demo by Fab and Alex!
  • E4M3, 2-player easy run in 0:36 - A demo by me and Will, definitely worth watching.
  • E4M7, 2-player easy run in 0:44 - by Alex and Marlo.
Runner's Delight - the insane set of levels for speedrunning

That's all the ID maps demos we have. The next demos that you _definitely_ should check out are for Jesse's RDE -episode. Here is what RDE really offers for mad coops :)

  • RD1M2, 6-player easy 100% in 0:32 - The time tells all about the demo. Absolutely cool level for madcooping. Players: Stefan, Ingmar, Fab, Marlo, Alex and Jesse.
  • The same six-pack of people recorded RD1M3, too: Easy 100% in 0:46 - They planned really cool routes for this one.
  • The third mad coop for RDE is one of the coolest ever in my opinion: RD1M4, 6-player Easy 100% in 0:43 - MAD amount of Grenadejumps (total 13?) and other tricks in this one. Download now!
Hipnotic & Rogue demos

The next demos are for Mission Packs:

  • I did two Hipnotic demos 9th June with Nolan while we were waiting for the others to arrive:
Easy 100% of H1M1 in 0:45 - Always a nice level. The first 100% coop of Hipnotic...
Easy 100% of H1M2 in 1:20 - Some hard tricks in this one: slopejumps, normal & quadded rocketjumps etc.
  • Then Nolan, Jesse, Ingmar and Stefan recorded a 4-player easy 100% of H2M1, getting 1:04. First official mad coop of Hipnotic.
  • The last Hipnotic demo is by Nolan, Jesse and Ingmar. They fight against Armagon on nightmare skill and kill him in 0:20 seconds. Firepower! :)
  • Only one demo for Rogue mission pack. Nolan and Jesse killed the Dragon in the last level in just 0:22 seconds. Another massive firepower performance...and 7 seconds faster than the previous record.
Custom map action

Then to the custom map demos:

  • I was honoured to get my visitors to play my level, Mcomplex. Me, Will, Jesse, Alex, Ingmar and Stefan did a 6-player mad coop through the level in just 0:55 - Another "must-check-demo" IMO. Lots of cool stuff included... I'm really glad that my level turned out to be this nice for madcoops :)
  • Marlo, Fab, Stefan and Alex did easy 100% of Carnage in 0:48 - This is a result of many hours of playing.
  • Nolan and Stefan recorded nightmare 100% of Doom2_07 in 0:17 - Must be pretty close to optimized.
  • I recorded IKSPQ1 easy 100% with Janne. We got it in 0:51, which is six seconds faster than Marlo's and Fab's old time.
  • Marlo, Alex and Jesse recorded easy 100% of Mexx6 in 1:38 - If I remember right, they had to work for quite a while to get this time...
  • Lastly, I just found one single player demo from Speedcon too: Stefan improved his previous nightmare 100% of Coagula by 24 seconds. The new time is 3:06.
That's all the demos I have on the official Speedcon "to be posted" folder. If I forgot any speedruns that we did, they'll get added here later. Once again, enjoy and prepare the popcorn! :)

SpeedCon Backwards Bunnies

Then, we have some awesome backwards-bunny demos by Fab. He gets the silver key in e1m2 while bunnying backwards, grabs the gold key in e1m6 backwards, and another favorite of mine is his demo on e4m3, where he does the slope jump (and an amazing jump over the gap) backwards as well, but there's even more demos included, so be sure to grab his backwards demos.

SpeedCon DM Demos - sorted & posted by Ilkka

We also had some deathmatch matches in the last evening - What is a LAN party without DM anyway? :) Mostly we played some free for all 4 players, but also had some 2on2 and even one 3on3 game. All of the games were played on ID DM maps.

We've got demos from Ilkka (that's me), Marlo and J-J. Unfortunately Alex didn't record or then his demos just got lost somehow. Anyway, here's all the demos that I found from the computers on the following day:

Also I found a demo called "drunk.dem", in which someone called "Compy" plays DM against Ingmar and Alex in E1M1. Jesse denies that he's playing in this demo though :)

That's all the DM demos we managed to record. If I find more of these (very unlikely), they'll get posted later. Anyways, go check out these demos now! :)
